As a proud member of the San Gabriel Valley community for more than 130 years, we regularly reach outside the hospital walls with free community health counseling and screenings, classes and other resources.
We are also committed to providing educational opportunities; whether through community access to our Health Library, or supporting the next generation of physicians with our Graduate Medical Education program.
In 2021 we provided over $135 million dollars in community benefit, and we are always looking for opportunities to expand our offerings.
Through education, early diagnostic screenings, emergency preparedness and more, our community outreach programs and educational resources help improve the health of our community as a whole. Here are a few examples:
- 1,096 patients received additional assistance for post-discharge follow-up and care transitions.
- 2,440 community members received complimentary flu shots.
- 32,000 COVID-19 vaccines were administered.
- 560 people received free health screenings and counseling.
- 148 community members participated in a Diabetes Empowerment and Education Program (D.E.E.P.).
- 840 people participated in support groups for cancer, mental health, weight management and stroke.
- 663 seniors received help to continue living safely in their homes.
