Huntington Hospital Opens Temporary Blood Donor Center for Community to Address Critical Shortage
Mar 23 2020

NOTE: COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving situation. Check our COVID-19 page for the most up-to-date information.

As the only trauma center in the San Gabriel Valley, we rely on the community’s generosity to help us keep a full supply of blood. Your support is extremely valuable as it makes a huge difference in meeting the health needs of our community.

Beginning March 23, 2020, Huntington Hospital has moved our community Blood Donor Center to 800 S. Fairmount Avenue, Pasadena, CA, 91105. Blood donation hours are Monday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday – 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Please note we are taking donation by appointment only. Call (626) 397-5422.

Special incentive: April 1-April 30 we are giving out 1 movie ticket or a $10 gift certificate (while supplies last).

Even during COVID-19, blood donation is still a safe practice.  There is no evidence that this coronavirus is transmissible by blood transfusion, and there have been no reported cases of transfusion transmission for any respiratory virus, including COVID-19.

In addition, please note that at each blood drive and our Blood Donor Center, Huntington Hospital’s employees follow thorough safety protocols to ensure blood recipient safety, as well as staff and donor safety.

Out of an abundance of caution, please note, that if you have traveled to: China (including Hong Kong and Macau), South Korea, Japan, Italy, or Iran in the last 28 days, please do not donate blood at this time.  You will be eligible to donate 28 days after your departure from any of these countries.

We are deeply grateful for our community’s continued support as we work together to respond to this health crisis. Please check our website for more information,
